FireGard™ Chain and Crank Operators

Model Number: Thermally Activated Manual Fire Operator

The FireGard™ manual operators are available in both a steel chain or removable hand crank and include a geared reduction unit and an electric wall mounted close control station.

This manual closing device activates the door or shutter once the fusible link melts, causing the chain to break and releasing the door or shutter to be closed at a safe maximum speed of 12" per second. 
 
In the event of a fire, the closing of the fire door or shutter is imperative in eliminating the spread of smoke and fire through out the building.  

Once activated, the system can be reset by replacing and resetting the fusible link.   

The FireGard manual operators can be used on fire doors and fire counter shutters that do not require the convenience of motor operation. The maximum size is 34' wide or 28' high - cranks can only be used for doors that are less than 12' high.
