As an architect you are responsible for every aspect of the building, but it is impossible to know the ins and outs of every product. That is why we have a dedicated team of design professionals to help you through every step of your project. Our dedicated Architectural Design Services team can assist with writing and reviewing specifications, recommending a specific product for your application and even suppling CAD / Revit drawings.
Don’t have a specific question at this time? Below we have answered a few of the most common questions we hear from architects in this week’s blog.
Great question! We have two options that offer airflow – ScreenGard Perforated Door and Grilles. Both are great options depending on the amount of airflow and security you are looking for.
ScreenGard Perforated Doors are recommended for areas that you are looking for ventilation, but still need to maintain a higher level of security. You can also adjust the amount of airflow you have by customizing the perforation on your door. Perforations can be put on ever slat or every other slate based on your desired air flow.
Security Grilles are recommended for areas that are looking for an elevated level of airflow and visibility. We have many different grille models based on your desires and needs of your application. Check out our rolling grille comparison chart to help determine the best fit for your application.
Security is our middle name! We have a line of maximum protection doors that protect against anything from intruders and riots to extreme weather events. The most heavy duty door that we offer is the EntryDefender door. It is designed to protect government buildings and other sensitive structure from attack for 5, 15 and 60 minutes. It looks like a standard rolling door on the exterior, but the robust steel curtain features interlocking slats that compress when closed.
Glad you asked! Within our max protection line, we offer the StormDefender Door, which is a great fit for extreme weather events in the Midwest and Florida. This storm-resistant door fits seamlessly into existing building architecture and stays hidden until you need it. This door is tested and certified to ICC500-2014 and FEMA P-361, Third Edition code standard. It can stand up to 250 mph winds and handle the force of a 100 mph impact.
Please note this is not an exhaustive list. Always reach out to your rolling door manufacturing team and work with the building owner and facility manager to choose the rolling security door that best meets your needs and wants.
