As a lead person for the Thermiser department in Bay 5, Tammy Billman begins her shift by calculating production numbers. Next, she meets with the leads of previous and incoming shifts to address issues. From there, she makes sure she has enough associates on hand to meet production goals and orders any needed materials. All of these steps ensure a smooth workflow for her team. 

Teamwork is what drives success in Tammy’s department. From roll-forming to wrapping, Tammy asserts that every associate plays a crucial role in ensuring that products are delivered to customers on time and meet the high-quality standards that Clopay® Corporation is known for. 

Expressing her commitment to her team of associates, Tammy said, “I support my coworkers by removing roadblocks, addressing their challenges, and implementing their ideas with the overall goal of improving both safety and production.” 

Managing production with technology. 

Tammy relies on Computerized Maintenance Management Software (CME) for production schedules and Microsoft Excel helps her maintain production goals and track losses.

Collaborating alongside other departments, Tammy and her team work with Research & Development (R&D) and New Product Development (NPD) to develop new and innovative insulated curtains- keeping Clopay Corporation one step ahead of the competition. 

Meeting challenges head-on. 

One of Tammy’s most memorable projects was completing a 50’ Craneway wrap on a shaft curtain. Although this project presented extensive engineering and collaborative challenges, she was able she was able to complete the project successfully with the support of her team and other departments.
