NEW QUICK DRAW HELP
The new Quick Draw web pages have been redesigned to be simpler and provide a more direct route to the information that you want. One of the biggest changes in the Quick Draw site is the ability to view item level detail on all of your Approval or Fabricated jobs. Additionally, all of the functionality of the Archive site has been rolled into the main Quick Draw page, so you can work with past jobs without having to leave your main Quick Draw browser window. You can browse your jobs by year, or enter the job number using the new ?Quick Access? box to be taken directly to the details of the job. You can then rebuild only the items you want from any particular job.

System Requirements
Our new Quick Draw pages require an internet browser with
Java,
JavaScript and cookies enabled. These come enabled by default with
most browsers, so unless you've turned these features off you most likely
will not have to do anything special to use our new Quick Draw pages.
Menus back to top
The menu options have been streamlined. The
old Quick Draw page presented you with options to view "WebGen", "Approval", and
"As Built" drawings, as well as archive request "Approval" and "As Built"
drawings. The new site gives you only two options: "Web Gen" and "Approval and
Fabricated" jobs.
You first select which type of job you want to view drawings for, and then select the year. For Approval and Fabricated jobs, we currently have job information available going back to 1997.
Once your page loads, you can easily load another year by selecting another year.
Note: If you select "Web Gen" the "year" option is not applicable--you will always be shown all of your Web Gen jobs that are outstanding.
Fabrication and Approval Jobs back to top
When you select a job type and a year, you will
be presented with a list of all jobs from that year, with the jobs with drawings
appearing at the top of the list. Whenever a job is processed for approval or
fabrication in our offices, it will then appear at the top of the list. If no
PDF?s exist you will see
[need to rebuild] instead of a date.
Sorting
How jobs are displayed has been changed to
include clickable
headings that can re-sort the page. By
default jobs are sorted by "Last
Post Date" but if you want to sort by
something else all you have to do is click on the appropriate heading. Click a
heading once and it will sort
DESCENDING.
Click the heading again and it will re-sort the
page in ASCENDING
order. There will be an arrow pointing either
up
or down
by the heading the page is currently sorted by.
View Items
To see items for a job, you have two options.
You can click on the
View Items
link from the example above. This will load the item detail page.
The above example shows a job that has ten items.
Item #7 is on hold and is grayed out as a result. The rest of the items have all been fabricated. Take note of the icon on the far right of the item listing--this is your cue as to whether drawings exist or not for the item. The blue icon denotes that drawings exist for that item, and clicking on the icon will link take you directly to the PDF document for that item.
Item #4 has a icon with a big red 'X'. This means that the PDF document does not exist, but it can be rebuilt.

Quick Access Box
The other way to view item detail for a job is
to enter the Job
or Estimate
number into the new ?Quick Access? box. The Quick Access box is
NOT
case-sensitive.
Job numbers must be entered in the following format: ?J? ?Year? ?Six digit job number? with no spaces between each. By default an example showing the format will appear in the box. In the example above the job year is 2006 and the job number is 012345. Your Cornell job number will always begin with a ?J?. Click on ?Submit? and you will be taken directly to the item page:
Rebuild PDF
To rebuild the PDF document for an item, simply
click on the check box for that item and click on the ?Rebuild?
button.
The rebuild process can take upwards of ten minutes to complete. This is
normal.
View / Combine PDF
If you want to combine existing PDF's into one
for printing purposes, simply select the items by click on their check box and
then click the "View"
button. This will start a process to send the combined PDF to your browser.
Depending on your browser you should will either be prompted to open or save the document, or the PDF will open automatically in your browser. How it opens is dependent on settings on your PC.
Note: The resulting PDF may be quite large and may require a significant amount of time to download depending on your network connection speed.
Web Gen Jobs
Web Gen drawings are handled the same as they
were in the old system, meaning that they are
NOT
item specific. The only thing that has changed
is the way the jobs are presented. You can bring up a list of Web Gen jobs by
selecting ?Web Gen? from the Job Type Menu. Clicking
View Drawings
will open the PDF.
You can also enter in an estimate number in the Quick Access box. Estimates must be entered in the following format: ?E? followed by the six-digit Cornell estimate number.
In the example above, the estimate number would be ?012345?. Clicking the submit button will display only the Web Gen job entered.
Sort
Web Gen Jobs
As with the Approval and Fabrication screen the
headings are
clickable and will re-sort the jobs
depending on which heading was clicked.
