Cornell Tube Motor Operated Shutters Now Available
Cornell tube motor operated counter shutters provide a product solution where strict dimensional limitations or aesthetic requirements limit the use of a standard motor operated counter shutter. Tube operators are available for the full counter door size range. Tube Motor Operated Shutter Info Sheet
Cornell Motor Operators
MG and SG Motor Operators and components are supplied and supported exclusively by Cornell Iron Works for single source accountablity for your motor operated rolling steel door needs. These quality gear head operators are cost competitive with belt drive operators. Compact design and mounting allows for these in-line operators to fit within the coil height dimension, allowing for small and aesthetically fitting operator covers while eliminating headroom clearance concerns. Available from 1/3 HP industrial duty to 7 1/2 HP continuous duty.
M100 Fire Door Retrofit System Receives UL Approval
Cornell’s advanced M100 fire door operators are now UL approved to be retrofit on to most existing coiling fire doors. Today, facility managers have an easy fix for their obsolete fire doors whose poorly governed, old style closing systems may actually create hazardous conditions where safety is needed most. By retrofitting M100 Motor, Hand Chain or Hand Crank operators on those existing fire doors, improved life safety and functional benefits can be achieved while still maintaining UL compliance.
M100 fire door operators are easily reset after automatic closing and guarantee a safe, automatic door closing rate. These systems allow facility personnel to easily perform routine tests and then reset their fire doors from floor level — without having to restore spring tension. Reliable M100 operators maintain the safety of buildings and occupants by ensuring that fire doors are ready to respond when the need arises. New! AIA/CES Accredited Presentation: Providing Hurricane Protection with Rolling Doors
Cornell’s newest program "Providing Hurricane Protection with Rolling Doors" allows participants to understand why maintaining secured commercial door openings during extreme weather conditions is critical to the overall structural integrity of buildings and how to specify commercial doors and building openings to meet today’s code requirements for intense storm conditions.
Through education of applicable building design factors, current testing standards and product availability, Cornell’s "Providing Hurricane Protection with Rolling Doors" enables participants to understand why maintaining secured commercial door openings during extreme weather conditions is critical to the overall structural integrity of buildings and how to specify commercial doors and building openings to meet today’s code requirements for intense storm conditions. Attendees will learn:
- The difference between "Test" and "Design" load requirements and the eleven variables that effect design wind load.
- What to expect with regard to high wind load door construction and load potentials that buildings need to support during worse case storm conditions.
- About potential wind forces and the locations that door loads are transferred to the building structure.
- The normal reactions of a closed door during extreme storm conditions and what to expect if door operation is attempted while the door is subjected to high wind forces.
- How codes are evolving for high wind load and wind-borne debris resistance.
- Potential consequences of commercial door opening failure due to extreme wind conditions.
All of Cornell AIA/CES programs are offered free of charge at the convenience of your architectural firm’s location to an unlimited number of your associates. Programs are also offered nationwide at local, regional and national meetings of the American Institute of Architects and Construction Specifications Institute.
