Cornell’s metal closure products are offered in steel, stainless steel or aluminum. Finish options allow Cornell products to fit—and often contribute to—the visual aesthetics of a building project. When enhanced resistance to chemicals, corrosion, moisture, rust, or abrasion is needed, Cornell has materials and finishes that will meet or exceed the requirement. The following information is for Rolling Steel products only. See TranZform product pages for specific material and finish information.
Available Material Finishes for Steel:
Exclusive GalvaNex™ Finish for Sheet Metal Curtains & Hoods- Coating System includes an ASTM A 653 galvanized base coating treated with dual process rinsing agents in preparation of a chemical bonding, light gray baked-on polyester base coat and a light gray or tan baked-on polyester finish coat. The scientific organic material composition and chemical bonding process of GalvaNex™ produces a superior finish against corrosion and abrasion. GalvaNex Specification
Hot Dipped Galvanized - Hot liquid process applies protective zinc coating in metallic silver finish.
ZRG - Zinc Rich Gray powder coating is smoother, more uniform and more durable than spray-on cold galvanized coatings.
Available Material Finishes for Aluminum:
Aluminum Mill Finish - Bright high-luster appearance in natural aluminum form.
Clear or Color Anodized - Electrochemical immersion process creates etched clear satin or a matte finish in deeper colors, including medium bronze, and black.
Available Material Finishes for Stainless Steel:
300 Series, #4 Finish - Brushed satin finish on curtain slats, bottom bar, hood, and guides. Stainless steel resists rust and corrosion and offers superior performance in the presence of moisture, chemicals, and food products.
Structural Stainless - Annealing pickles and toughens metal to make a rough textured matte finish.
Powder Coating:
An electrostatic applied polymer is baked-on to selected steel or aluminum components providing a durable finish in an array of color choices, such as Standard RAL® colors, see chart. More information on Cornell's SpectraShield® powder coating process...
