Custom Powder Coat Colors for Commercial Garage Doors

Find the perfect hue for your project with our RAL colors for power-coated doors at Cornell. These colors are available for any of our products or components that can be finished with SpectraShield powder coating, including many rolling service doors, fire-rated coiling doors, and security grilles.

SpectraShield polyester powder coating is environmentally friendly and factory applied for a smooth finish every time. This coating can be applied to steel or aluminum to protect your new product and add more aesthetic value to your space.

For a more durable finish, consider upgrading to our Ultra powder coat finish. It can be applied on top of the SpectraShield finish. Ultra is a polyester-based, textured, wear-resistant clear coat that provides improved durability against deterioration and / or marring of the curtain during regular use.

What Are RAL Colors?

The RAL color chart is a system of standardized colors established and maintained by the German RAL Institute. Prior to establishing this standardized color system, customers and manufacturers had to exchange samples or describe their desired hues to communicate what shade they wanted. The first 40 RAL standardized colors were introduced in 1927 and allowed customers to refer to the options by numbers to avoid confusion.

Over the years, RAL has updated and added to its collections, including the Classic Collection, Design Collection, and RAL Effect. RAL has used its system to standardize a total of 2,530 color options for use across many industries.

RAL colors are indicated according to their four-digit numerical codes and descriptive color names. The first digit of each number is assigned according to the color group, with 1000s indicating yellows, 2000s indicating oranges, 3000s indicating reds, and so forth.

RAL doesn't produce its own coatings, but the company is an invaluable source that makes communication about standardized colors easy for customers and manufacturers.

These standardized colors also make it a breeze to color match your new product or component to one you have already installed. If you have a RAL 6002 colored rolling door, you can select the same shade for your new fixtures for a seamless color match.

Please note that due to inherent differences in physical powder versus an electronic display, as well as differences in individual monitor calibration, these color representations should be used as a guideline only. When color is critical, contact us for a physical, color-accurate RAL swatch book. Cornell is not responsible for discrepancies between the color representations below and powder-coated products.
